Brooklyn Historical Society is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Historical Programs Coordinator. As a pivotal part of our organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Brooklyn's rich history.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute historical programs and events that engage the local community
- Collaborate with educators, historians, and community leaders to create informative and engaging content
- Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of resources
- Oversee program evaluation and implement improvements based on feedback and outcomes
- Contribute ideas and support the development of educational materials and resources
- Represent the institution at community events and through public speaking engagements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in history, museum studies, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination or event management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for history and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and event management software
