Brooklyn Historical Society is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Historical Programs Coordinator. As a pivotal part of our organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Brooklyn's rich history.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute historical programs and events that engage the local community
  • Collaborate with educators, historians, and community leaders to create informative and engaging content
  • Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of resources
  • Oversee program evaluation and implement improvements based on feedback and outcomes
  • Contribute ideas and support the development of educational materials and resources
  • Represent the institution at community events and through public speaking engagements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in history, museum studies, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination or event management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Passion for history and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and event management software
