We are currently seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team at Zoos Victoria, a leading wildlife conservation organization based in Victoria, Australia. In line with our commitment to social responsibility and environmental conservation, we are looking to fill the position of Environmental Conservation Officer.

Zoos Victoria is dedicated to fighting extinction and preserving wildlife through our three world-class zoos: Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, and Werribee Open Range Zoo. Our mission is to connect people with wildlife and inspire actions for nature conservation.

Your Role:

As an Environmental Conservation Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our global initiatives and conservation programs. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing strategies to promote environmental conservation on a global scale
Collaborating with international organizations and stakeholders to drive conservation efforts
Advocating for sustainable practices and raising awareness about environmental issues
Conducting research and collecting data to support conservation projects
Assessing and monitoring the impact of current environmental programs
Providing guidance and support to staff and volunteers engaged in conservation activities

Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, conservation, or a related field
Proven experience in planning and implementing conservation initiatives
Strong understanding of global environmental issues and current conservation practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Passion for wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability
