Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Diversity and Inclusion Officer to join our team. As a Diversity and Inclusion Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization and across Kansas schools. Your main duties will include:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and address diversity and inclusion gaps within our policies, practices, and programs.
  • Developing training programs to educate staff and educators on cultural competency, unconscious bias, and best practices for creating inclusive classrooms.
  • Working closely with external partners, community organizations, and underrepresented groups to build strong relationships and foster collaboration.
  • Leading diversity and inclusion initiatives, such as organizing events, workshops, and conferences, to promote understanding, respect, and equal opportunities in education.
  • Monitoring and analyzing diversity metrics, reporting progress, and identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Sociology, Diversity Studies).
  • Proven experience in diversity and inclusion initiatives within a large organization or educational setting.
  • Deep knowledge of cultural competence, social justice, and equity issues in education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
