Job Description:
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Multicultural Outreach Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in promoting diversity and inclusivity within our organization and engaging with diverse communities across New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance multicultural outreach efforts
- Collaborate with community organizations and leaders to foster partnerships
- Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and educational programs
- Create and distribute culturally sensitive materials to reach diverse audiences
- Conduct research to identify target communities and their specific needs
- Provide training and guidance to staff on cultural competency and diversity issues
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Cultural Studies, Sociology, Nonprofit Management)
- Experience working in multicultural environments or with diverse communities
- Strong knowledge of cultural diversity and inclusion principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with community partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the state
