Wildlife Outreach Specialist

Zurich Zoo is seeking a passionate and innovative Wildlife Outreach Specialist to join our team. As a Wildlife Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging communication strategies to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, animal behavior, and ecological preservation. This position involves the use of various media platforms, public engagement, and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute impactful communication plans to enhance public understanding of wildlife conservation efforts
Collaborate with the marketing team to produce compelling audio-visual content for social media, website, and other communication channels
Organize and conduct interactive outreach programs, workshops, and events targeted at diverse audience groups
Establish and maintain partnerships with local and international media outlets to promote wildlife initiatives and conservation messages
Conduct research on communication trends and analyze data to optimize outreach strategies
Work closely with animal care experts and conservationists to communicate complex topics effectively to the public
Monitor and respond to public inquiries and feedback related to zoo initiatives and wildlife conservation
Contribute to the development of educational materials such as brochures, signage, and multimedia presentations

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies with a focus on wildlife, environmental, or conservation topics
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and German
Passion for wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability
Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
Strong organizational and project management skills
Proficiency in using various media production and editing tools
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events and outreach activities
