North Carolina Cattlemen's Association is looking for a talented individual to join our team in a pivotal role that bridges the gap between our association and the governmental/nonprofit sector. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a keen interest in promoting and furthering our industry's progress.
Position: Government and Community Liaison
Job Overview
The Government and Community Liaison will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining relationships with various governmental bodies, as well as local and regional nonprofits. This role is instrumental in fostering positive engagement and communication between the Association and these important stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as a vital link between our organization and the public sector, keeping abreast of policy changes, community initiatives, and nonprofit collaborations relevant to our industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and cultivate relationships with local, state, and federal government officials to advocate for the interests of North Carolina's cattle industry.
- Collaborate with community organizations and nonprofits to facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships and initiatives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact the cattle industry, and effectively communicate relevant information to Association members.
- Represent the Association at community events, meetings, and seminars to promote awareness and engagement.
- Assist in the development and execution of strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of the Association within the government and nonprofit sectors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of governmental and nonprofit operations, as well as legislative processes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Prior experience in governmental affairs, public policy, or nonprofit management is preferred.
