The Student Veterans of America - North Carolina State University Chapter is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Career Development & Learning Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in providing educational and training support to our student veterans, helping them achieve their career goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver career development programs and workshops for student veterans, covering topics such as resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, and professional networking.
  • Provide one-on-one career counseling to student veterans, including assessing their skills, interests, and goals, and assisting them in creating personalized career plans.
  • Collaborate with employers, industry professionals, and university staff to organize career fairs, networking events, and employer information sessions tailored for student veterans.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information to provide relevant guidance and resources in the career development process.
  • Coordinate and administer assessments and surveys to measure the effectiveness of career development programs and gather feedback for continual improvement.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to career services provided to student veterans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Education).
  • Experience in career counseling, coaching, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of career development theories and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with a diverse student veteran population.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employers, university staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using career development and job search tools.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination.
