Griekwastad Moth Memorial Museum, located in the Northern Cape region of South Africa, is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable professional to join our team as a Cultural Diversity and Inclusivity Specialist. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and this role will play a crucial part in ensuring our museum embraces people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategies to promote cultural diversity and inclusivity within the museum.
Collaborate with various teams and departments to create inclusive programs, events, and exhibitions.
Provide guidance and support to staff members on cultural sensitivity, inclusion, and diversity-related matters.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about cultural diversity and inclusivity.
Review and revise museum policies and procedures to ensure inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
Manage recruitment and hiring processes with a focus on diversity and inclusivity.
Establish partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to foster a culturally diverse network.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity in a professional setting.
Strong knowledge of diversity and inclusivity best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse team.
Demonstrated understanding of South African cultural diversity and history.
Experience in developing and delivering training programs is desirable.
