The Diekirch Arts Foundation, based in the culturally rich city of Diekirch, Luxembourg, is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Innovative Geoscientist. At Diekirch Arts Foundation, we believe in harnessing the power of geology and environmental sciences to create unique artistic pieces inspired by the Earth's natural beauty and resources.


As an Innovative Geoscientist, you will play a pivotal role in integrating natural geologic materials and concepts with artistic expression. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Exploring and identifying geological formations and processes that can be used as artistic inspiration
  • Conducting research on environmental impacts and sustainability practices in the context of our artistic projects
  • Collaborating with artists, designers, and other scientists to develop innovative and sustainable artistic concepts
  • Experimenting with geoscientific processes to create and enhance artworks
  • Contributing to the curation and interpretation of geologically inspired exhibits

To excel in this role, you should have a strong scientific background in geology or a related field, combined with a passion for art and creativity. The following qualifications will be beneficial:


  • A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in applying geology or environmental sciences to artistic endeavors
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices and their application in artistic projects
  • Proficiency in geological mapping, analysis, and interpretation
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • An ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative approaches to geologically informed art
