About the Role

As a Media Relations Specialist, you will be a crucial part of our Communications department, responsible for building relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Your main objective will be to craft compelling stories about our company and transmit them to the target audience, driving brand recognition and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the company's initiatives and achievements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media professionals.
Create press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials.
Monitor media coverage and identify relevant opportunities for media engagement.
Organize and coordinate media events, interviews, and press conferences.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment.

Required Skills

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in media relations, public relations, or a related field.
Strong network of media contacts on the North Island.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Creative mindset with the ability to turn technical information into engaging stories.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
