Position: Media Relations Specialist

Job Description:

Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers
Create compelling content for press releases, articles, and blogs to promote the association's activities and achievements
Proactively seek opportunities for media coverage and coordinate interviews and media appearances
Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on PR campaigns' effectiveness
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation
Plan and execute media events and press conferences
Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify new opportunities to enhance the association's media presence

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
Prior experience in media relations, public relations, or communications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and media monitoring tools
Knowledge of the firefighting industry or a willingness to learn
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
