Critical Earth Advocate - Research Analyst

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Human Rights Watch in New York as a Research Analyst focusing on the critical interconnections between human rights and our planet.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on the impact of contemporary environmental issues on marginalized communities worldwide.
  • Monitor and report on human rights violations linked to environmental factors and geologic phenomena.
  • Collaborate with international teams to advocate for policy changes and raise awareness on environmental justice issues.
  • Produce insightful reports, articles, and publications that shed light on the intersection of human rights and the environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a strong academic background in environmental studies, geology, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis, ideally within the context of environmental justice or human rights.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
