Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Management

NATO Civil Emergency Planning (CEP) Directorate is seeking a visionary and accomplished leader to join our team as the Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Management. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and management of NATO's critical infrastructure and facilities within the Brussels-Capital Region. Reporting directly to senior management, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our extensive physical assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive facility management strategies to optimize the functionality of NATO's infrastructure.
  • Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, security, and sustainability initiatives, to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the planning and execution of construction projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades, aligning with NATO's strategic objectives and budgetary considerations.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability among all staff members.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, suppliers, and relevant authorities to support facility-related initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of facility management activities and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in facilities management, construction project management, or infrastructure development, preferably in an international or complex organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements, building codes, and environmental standards related to facility management and infrastructure development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, budgeting, and financial analysis to ensure cost-effective decision-making and resource allocation.
