MeteoSwiss, based in Berne, Switzerland, is seeking a motivated and experienced Climate Communication Specialist to join our team. As a Climate Communication Specialist, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness about the ever-changing climate and its potential effects on society.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to effectively convey meteorological and climatological information to diverse audiences.
- Create compelling and informative content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and traditional media outlets.
- Collaborate with scientific experts to translate complex climate data into accessible and engaging narratives.
- Participate in outreach programs, educational initiatives, and public events to foster public understanding of climate-related issues.
- Stay updated on the latest climate research and scientific developments to ensure accurate and impactful communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, atmospheric science, journalism, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in climate communication, science writing, or environmental journalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, audience-appropriate communication materials.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
