Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as the Director of Agricultural Advocacy and Outreach. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the soybean industry in Mississippi.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic advocacy initiatives to promote the growth and sustainability of the soybean industry.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including farmers, industry associations, and government agencies, to advocate for policies that support soybean farmers.
- Lead outreach programs to educate the public about the benefits of soybeans and their impact on the local economy.
- Manage communication efforts, including media relations, social media, and public speaking engagements.
- Organize and participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance the visibility of the Mississippi soybean industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in advocacy, public relations, or government affairs.
- Strong knowledge of the agricultural industry and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by soybean farmers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
