Federal Housing Office (FHO), located in the heart of Berne, is actively seeking passionate individuals to join our team. We are currently looking for candidates with a profound interest in earth sciences, environmental research, and data analysis. As a Geo-Environmental Researcher at FHO, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive studies on geological and environmental data for the purpose of supporting sustainable housing policies and urban development.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in comprehensive geo-environmental research involving geological mapping, soil analysis, and environmental impact assessments.
Conduct data collection and analysis using advanced geological and environmental software for assessing the environmental viability of prospective housing development sites.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide in-depth geological and environmental insights to further urban housing policies and infrastructure planning.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in environmental and geological research, integrating innovative methodologies into our existing frameworks.

Requirements:

A Master's or PhD degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in using geospatial software and data analysis tools for geological and environmental research.
Proven experience in conducting fieldwork and familiarity with geological survey techniques.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex geological and environmental data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
