We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Wildlife Conservation Specialist at Connecticut Fund for the Environment / Save the Sound. As a Wildlife Conservation Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect and conserve the diverse wildlife in Connecticut. Your primary focus will be on understanding and addressing the various challenges that threaten the local wildlife population while collaborating with community stakeholders, government agencies, and other conservation organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Experience in wildlife management, conservation, or related areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for conservation and wildlife preservation
- Understanding of local and federal regulations related to wildlife
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct wildlife surveys and research
- Develop and execute wildlife conservation projects
- Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders
- Educate the public on wildlife conservation efforts
- Advocate for policies supporting wildlife preservation
- Monitor and assess the impact of conservation initiatives
