Position: Sustainable Agriculture Specialist
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing and implementing sustainable agricultural programs to enhance the self-sufficiency and food security of our center.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage sustainable agriculture projects tailored to the unique needs of visually and hearing impaired children
- Conduct research and implement best practices in agricultural methods, organic farming, and permaculture
- Train children and staff on sustainable farming techniques
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of agriculture projects
- Collaborate with community partners, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required
Requirements:
- Relevant academic qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field
- Proven experience in sustainable agriculture, preferably in a rural setting
- Strong knowledge of organic farming methods and permaculture principles
- Passion for working with children with disabilities and a commitment to their well-being
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a diverse team
