The University of the Free State is seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join our team as a Lead Systems Architect. This role is ideal for an individual who possesses a strong background in designing and implementing innovative technological solutions tailored to the academic sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the university's technology architecture
- Lead a team of developers to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose efficient system designs
- Manage system integration processes and ensure seamless operation of various systems
- Conduct regular system assessments and recommend improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience in a lead architect role, preferably in an academic or research environment
- Expertise in system design, software development, and implementation
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and a strong understanding of security best practices
