Western Highlands Community Arts Center is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in the role of Environment Stewardship Specialist. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on environmental conservation while enjoying a flexible work arrangement.

We are looking for an individual experienced in sustainability initiatives and passionate about maintaining the natural beauty of Iceland's Western Highlands. As an Environment Stewardship Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize our ecological footprint and support renewable resource utilization in our operations.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute environmental sustainability programs to reduce waste and promote energy efficiency.
Collaborate with local agencies and stakeholders to support conservation efforts in the Western Highlands area.
Evaluate the environmental impact of our activities and recommend improvements to minimize adverse effects.
Conduct research to identify opportunities for incorporating renewable energy sources into our facilities.
Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and work towards meeting or exceeding set standards.
Educate and raise awareness among our team members and the community about the importance of environmentally friendly practices.
Prepare and maintain accurate records related to environmental performance and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing environmental stewardship programs.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for preserving natural landscapes and ecosystems.
