Skinner State Park - Wildlife Conservation Specialist
Skinner State Park is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Wildlife Conservation Specialist. This unique and exciting position involves conducting ecological research and implementing conservation initiatives within the heart of Nebraska's natural beauty. As a Wildlife Conservation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the diverse wildlife and ecosystem of Skinner State Park, while promoting environmental education and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting field surveys to assess the wildlife population and habitat health
- Implementing conservation strategies to protect threatened species
- Collaborating with local research institutions on ecological studies
- Developing and leading educational initiatives for visitors and school groups
- Assisting in the maintenance and enhancement of park trails and facilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
- Proven experience in ecological research or wildlife conservation
- Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
