New Jersey State Archives is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of our state. We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Cultural Heritage Research Specialist.
Position Overview:
As a Cultural Heritage Research Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth historical and cultural research, analyzing artifacts and documents, and contributing to the development of exhibits and educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct historical and cultural research on diverse topics related to New Jersey's heritage.
- Collaborate with the archival team to analyze and interpret historical documents and artifacts.
- Participate in the development of engaging exhibits and educational materials.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion within our archival collections and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in archival or historical research.
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey's cultural heritage and history.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Passion for promoting diversity and inclusivity within cultural institutions.
