Position Available: Wildlife Tourism Coordinator
Are you passionate about wildlife and the great outdoors? The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Wildlife Tourism Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and developing sustainable wildlife-based tourism opportunities throughout the state of Louisiana. As a representative of our department, you will work to enhance public awareness of Louisiana's diverse wildlife and natural landscapes, while also ensuring the protection and preservation of these invaluable resources. Our ideal candidate possesses a deep appreciation for nature and a keen understanding of tourism strategy and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement wildlife tourism initiatives
- Develop educational materials and programs to promote responsible wildlife tourism
- Facilitate partnerships with local businesses and organizations to enhance the tourism experience
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of wildlife tourism activities on local ecosystems
- Engage with the public to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in wildlife management, environmental science, or a related field
- Proven experience in tourism development or marketing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of local flora and fauna, as well as conservation best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
