The Moses Kotane Institute in South Africa's North West region is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Exotic Companion Specialist. As the perfect candidate, you will play a pivotal role within our organization, focusing on the expert care and well-being of unique companion animals.
Responsibilities:
- Providing specialized care and attention to a variety of exotic animals and unique companions.
- Developing and implementing enrichment programs tailored to the needs of each individual animal.
- Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure the health and well-being of all animals under our care.
- Offering educational support and advice to pet owners, promoting responsible and informed exotic animal care.
- Remaining up-to-date with the latest research and trends in exotic animal care and welfare.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in working with exotic animals, showcasing a deep understanding of their unique needs and behaviors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful enrichment programs for exotic animals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and engage with pet owners and the wider community.
- A passionate advocate for animal welfare and ethical treatment of animals.
- An educational background in veterinary science, zoology, or a related field is advantageous.
