As a Rural Development Coordinator, you will play a vital role in fostering sustainable agricultural practices and supporting the well-being of rural communities across Newfoundland and Labrador. Utilizing your blend of agricultural expertise and community engagement, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at promoting health, wellness, and economic growth within our rural regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify opportunities for sustainable agricultural development within rural areas
- Cultivate strong partnerships with local agricultural stakeholders and community leaders
- Design and implement programs to enhance agricultural skill sets and knowledge within rural communities
- Advocate for policies supporting rural agricultural infrastructure and economic stability
- Coordinate educational workshops and outreach events to connect farmers with improved resources and technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Rural Development, or related field
- Proven experience in project management within agricultural or rural development settings
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and their impact on rural economies
- Passion for community engagement and the improvement of rural livelihoods
