Rural Innovation and Community Development Officer
We are seeking a Rural Innovation and Community Development Officer to join our dynamic team at Northeastern Community Arts Council based in the beautiful Northeastern Region of Iceland. This unique role calls for a visionary individual with a passion for sustainable development and a keen understanding of rural culture and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate community cultural projects and events that promote the intersection of arts, agriculture, and rural living
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders to identify and implement sustainable rural development initiatives
- Develop and manage international partnerships to support artistic and agricultural exchange programs
- Advocate for rural innovation by researching, identifying, and recommending funding opportunities and grants
- Identify and pursue opportunities for creative and sustainable agricultural practices within the rural community
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental studies, community development, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience in project management, community development, or sustainable agriculture with an international focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively engage with diverse communities and international partners
- Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and opportunities within rural environments
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English
