Position: Animal Welfare Specialist
Location: Eastern Cape, South Africa
Job Description:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the welfare and well-being of animals within the community.
- Educate and engage with local residents on responsible pet ownership and welfare practices.
- Coordinate with local organizations and authorities to provide support for stray and vulnerable animals.
- Conduct assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations.
- Advocate for the humane treatment of animals and raise awareness about animal welfare issues.
- Collaborate with community leaders to promote understanding and compassion towards animals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biology, zoology, veterinary science, etc.)
- Experience in animal welfare, conservation, or related fields is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for promoting the welfare and rights of animals
- Understanding of local cultural dynamics and communities
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
