Position: Animal Welfare Specialist

Location: Eastern Cape, South Africa

Job Description:

Develop and implement strategies to ensure the welfare and well-being of animals within the community.
Educate and engage with local residents on responsible pet ownership and welfare practices.
Coordinate with local organizations and authorities to provide support for stray and vulnerable animals.
Conduct assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations.
Advocate for the humane treatment of animals and raise awareness about animal welfare issues.
Collaborate with community leaders to promote understanding and compassion towards animals.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biology, zoology, veterinary science, etc.)
Experience in animal welfare, conservation, or related fields is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for promoting the welfare and rights of animals
Understanding of local cultural dynamics and communities
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
