Rural Heritage Preservation Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Rural Heritage Preservation Specialist at the Western Australian Museum. As a leader in the preservation and celebration of Western Australia’s rural heritage, we are committed to maintaining and promoting the history, culture, and practices that have shaped our agricultural landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Research, document, and preserve traditional agricultural practices and technologies.
Curate exhibitions and develop educational programs focused on rural heritage.
Engage with rural communities to understand and represent their agricultural history.
Collaborate with experts to advance the museum’s collection of rural artifacts and stories.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
Proven experience in agricultural heritage preservation or relevant museum work.
Strong communication and research skills.
Passion for rural history and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
