We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team, focusing on an important role that bridges the gap between animal welfare and environmental conservation in the Lake Victoria Basin region.

Job Title: Environmental Protection and Species Management Officer

Location: Western Kenya, Lake Victoria Basin

Role Overview:

  • Develop and implement initiatives to preserve and protect indigenous animal species within the Lake Victoria Basin.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders and organizations to promote sustainable animal husbandry and conservation practices.
  • Oversee compliance with regulations related to animal welfare and environmental protection.
  • Conduct educational outreach programs to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the ecosystem, including its animal inhabitants.
  • Research and recommend strategies for improving the coexistence of human communities and wildlife in the region.

Candidates should have a strong background in wildlife management, environmental conservation, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a deep commitment to the well-being of animals and their habitats.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, zoology, or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in wildlife conservation, animal welfare, or related areas.
  • Understanding of local environmental regulations and international conventions related to animal protection.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement conservation programs and initiatives.
