We are thrilled to announce an exceptional job opening at the Mangaung SPCA in the heart of Free State, South Africa. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Animal Enrichment Coordinator to help us ensure the well-being and happiness of our beloved four-legged companions. This role is critical in maintaining the physical and mental health of our animals and creating an environment that is both stimulating and enjoyable for them.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging activities and entertainment programs for animals in our care
- Coordinate and facilitate exercise routines for different animals, considering their individual needs
- Develop and manage creative play sessions to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
- Work closely with the animal care team to identify and address specific enrichment needs
- Continuously assess and update enrichment programs to ensure effectiveness
- Educate and involve volunteers and staff members in the enrichment process
Requirements:
- A genuine love for animals and a deep understanding of their behavior and welfare
- Experience in creating and managing activities or programs, preferably within an animal-related environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse team
- A proactive and innovative mindset to continually enhance the quality of life for our animals
- Passion for promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of animals in our care
