About Us: The Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth, and Their Families is dedicated to supporting the well-being and development of young people across the state. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive growth and empowerment.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Support Specialist.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work directly with at-risk youth to provide guidance, mentorship, and support
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Collaborate with families and community resources to ensure comprehensive support
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments
- Advocate for the needs and rights of young individuals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience working with youth in challenging environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Understanding of trauma-informed care is a plus
