As a Rural Development Specialist, you will be responsible for driving growth and development in rural communities across North Carolina. Your main focus will be to identify and implement strategies that promote sustainable agricultural practices, foster economic growth, and enhance the overall quality of life in rural areas.

Responsibilities:

Conduct research and analysis to identify key challenges and opportunities in the agriculture and rural sectors
Develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives to support rural development
Collaborate with local farmers, businesses, and community organizations to promote sustainable agriculture and rural entrepreneurship
Provide technical assistance and guidance to farmers and rural entrepreneurs
Advocate for policies that support rural development and address the needs of the agriculture industry
Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and networking events
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Agriculture, Rural Development, Business)
Proven experience in rural development, agriculture, or a related field
Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, rural economies, and community development
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
