The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is excited to welcome talented professionals from diverse backgrounds to join our team. At NDOW, we are dedicated to conserving, protecting, and managing Nevada's wildlife resources for present and future generations. We are currently seeking passionate individuals for the position of Wildlife Conservation Specialist.



Position Summary:

As a Wildlife Conservation Specialist, you will play a vital role in understanding and promoting the diverse wildlife species found within the state of Nevada. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, analyzing data, and implementing strategies to conserve and manage wildlife habitats. You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop educational programs and awareness campaigns.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys to monitor wildlife populations and their habitats
  • Analyze data collected from surveys to identify trends and propose conservation measures
  • Collaborate with wildlife biologists and researchers to develop wildlife management plans
  • Coordinate public education and outreach programs related to wildlife conservation
  • Provide technical assistance to landowners and stakeholders on wildlife habitats
  • Assist in enforcing wildlife laws and regulations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources, or a related field
  • Experience in wildlife conservation, research, or related areas is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Nevada's native wildlife species and habitats
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Familiarity with GIS software and other data management tools
