Job Description:
Natural Resources Wales is currently seeking an Adventure Specialist to join our team in Wales. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about sports, fitness, and the great outdoors to make a significant impact on promoting active lifestyles and environmental conservation.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and leading adventurous outdoor activities that encourage physical fitness and engagement with nature
- Developing innovative programs to inspire people to participate in sports and recreational activities
- Collaborating with local communities, schools, and organizations to promote outdoor adventures
- Providing guidance on safe sporting practices and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assessing and managing potential risks to ensure participant safety
- Promoting environmental awareness and emphasizing conservation ethics during activities
- Training and mentoring outdoor instructors and guides
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in organizing and leading outdoor sports activities
- Strong knowledge of sports and fitness principles, equipment, and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire participants
- Passion for nature, the environment, and environmental conservation
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to handle diverse challenges
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Certifications in relevant fields such as wilderness first aid, outdoor education, or coaching are desirable
