Job Title: Animal Welfare Coordinator
As an Animal Welfare Coordinator at SASSA, you will be responsible for overseeing programs that promote the welfare of pets and animals in the Eastern Cape. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, animal shelters, and community organizations, to ensure the optimum protection and care for our beloved furry friends. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement animal welfare programs in accordance with SASSA's policies and regulations.
- Coordinate efforts with local authorities, animal shelters, and community organizations to streamline efforts towards the well-being of pets and animals.
- Evaluate and approve funding applications for animal welfare projects.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of animal care facilities to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Advocate for animal rights and enforce relevant legislation to prevent animal cruelty.
- Organize educational workshops and events to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of animal welfare programs and make recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
- Passion for animals and their well-being.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
