Job Opportunity: Wildlife Conservation Scientist

Role Description:

WHWCS is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Wildlife Conservation Scientist. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in researching and monitoring the diverse wildlife species found within the Western Highlands, providing valuable insights to guide our conservation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive wildlife surveys and population assessments using advanced field techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret collected data to identify trends in wildlife behavior, distribution, and abundance.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective conservation strategies.
  • Design and oversee long-term wildlife monitoring programs to assess the impact of conservation initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed scientific reports and publications, presenting findings at conferences and scientific forums.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative research methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Engage in public outreach activities to promote wildlife conservation and create environmental awareness.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior researchers and field staff on wildlife conservation projects.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Conservation Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting field research in remote locations.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with wildlife management techniques and conservation principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging field conditions.
  • Passion for wildlife conservation and a deep understanding of the Western Highlands ecosystem.
