The Egilsstadir Community Cooking School in Iceland's Eastern Region is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Wildlife Education Specialist.
Job Description:
- Deliver engaging educational sessions about Icelandic wildlife, with a focus on animals in their natural habitats.
- Develop and implement innovative educational programs for various age groups.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of the Wildlife Learning Center, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and providing enrichment activities.
- Participate in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation efforts as needed.
- Collaborate with the local community to raise awareness about conservation and sustainable practices.
Requirements:
- A background in biology, ecology, or related field.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for and knowledge of Icelandic wildlife.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
- Experience in teaching or working with the public is preferred.
