Position: Geospatial Analyst

As a Geospatial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in harnessing geographic data to support agricultural and rural systems in Trøndelag. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to gather and analyze geospatial data related to soil composition, vegetation, and climate patterns.
  • Developing and maintaining databases and geographic information systems (GIS) for agricultural planning and land management.
  • Utilizing remote-sensing data to monitor crop health, yield predictions, and land-use change within the region.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve agricultural practices, soil fertility, and resource allocation through advanced geospatial analysis.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on geospatial analysis tools and methodologies to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Geomatics, Geographical Information Science (GIS), Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS, and geospatial analysis techniques.
  • Experience in collecting, processing, and interpreting geospatial data, ideally in an agricultural or rural context.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing, spatial statistics, and data visualization methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively.
  • A passion for leveraging geospatial insights to drive sustainable agricultural practices.
