Position: Research and Development Associate

Job Overview:

Conduct extensive research and analysis to identify sustainable fabric options and sourcing channels
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test new eco-friendly materials
Provide technical support in the laboratory for fabric testing and analysis
Explore and implement innovative techniques to reduce environmental impact in the production process
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, sustainability practices, and regulations

Key Responsibilities:

Perform in-depth research on sustainable fabric development, recycling techniques, and green chemistry processes
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and designers to promote sustainable practices and materials
Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of sustainable fabric options, including specifications and availability
Conduct experiments and fabric trials to assess the performance, durability, and eco-credentials of new materials
Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable production methods to reduce waste and energy consumption
Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate research findings and recommendations
Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to expand knowledge and network

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
Proven experience in textile research, sustainable fashion, or laboratory work
Strong knowledge of sustainable fabric development, recycling technologies, and eco-friendly production methods
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and fabric testing procedures
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
Passion for sustainability and understanding of the fashion industry's environmental and social challenges
