As a Community Support Advocate, you will play a vital role in providing support, resources, and empowerment to survivors of domestic violence. Your commitment and compassion will help individuals rebuild their lives and create a safer community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of survivors' needs and safety concerns
  • Develop individualized safety plans and provide ongoing support
  • Assist survivors in accessing resources such as legal aid, counseling, and housing assistance
  • Advocate for survivors within the criminal justice and social service systems
  • Coordinate and facilitate support groups for survivors
  • Collaborate with community organizations to enhance services for survivors
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Prior experience working with survivors of domestic violence
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and support networks
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed care and emotional support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy laws
