About Us
The Lombardy Foundation for Research on Wildlife Conservation (FLIRWC) is an innovative organization dedicated to the preservation and understanding of wildlife in the Lombardy region of Italy. We employ a wide range of research methodologies, including aerial surveys, to gather valuable insights into the local wildlife population and support conservation efforts.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Wildlife Conservation and Aerial Research Specialist who will be a key member of our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will primarily focus on conducting aerial research and employing cutting-edge technologies to support wildlife conservation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute aerial surveys using drones and other aircraft to gather wildlife population data
- Analyze aerial imagery and identify wildlife species, habitats, and migration patterns
- Monitor and assess changes in wildlife populations over time
- Collaborate with other researchers and conservationists to develop and implement effective conservation strategies
- Provide technical expertise and support for wildlife conservation projects
- Contribute to the publication of scientific papers and reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science)
- Proven experience in conducting aerial research, preferably in the field of wildlife conservation
- Proficiency in operating drones and image analysis software
- Strong knowledge of wildlife conservation principles and practices
- Excellent data analysis and research skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
