We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team at North Carolina Aquariums in beautiful North Carolina. As an organization deeply committed to research and innovation, we are excited to recruit a Research and Innovation Specialist to drive our scientific efforts forward.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement research projects aimed at advancing our understanding of marine ecosystems and conservation
Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop research collaborations and secure funding opportunities
Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in marine research and conservation science
Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Provide expertise and guidance to support the development of innovative approaches for improving aquarium operations and visitor engagement

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Marine Biology, Ecology, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in planning, executing, and managing research projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
