Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of animals? Southern Pines Animal Shelter is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in North Carolina. Be a part of our mission to provide loving care and find forever homes for animals in need.
Position: Animal Care Specialist
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Animal Care Specialist to help us in our day-to-day operations. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing quality care, including feeding, grooming, and administering medication to animals
- Ensuring the overall well-being and comfort of animals in our care
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the shelter
- Assisting with behavioral assessments and training of animals
- Coordinating with veterinary staff on medical needs and procedures
- Assisting in the adoption process and conducting meet-and-greets with potential adopters
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you should meet the following requirements:
- Prior experience working with animals, preferable in a shelter or veterinary setting
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Ability to lift and carry animals of various sizes and weights
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
