Position: Agricultural Development Specialist
Job Description:
- Research and evaluate agricultural development opportunities in the Bristol Bay region.
- Collaborate with local farmers, government agencies, and indigenous communities to identify needs and opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve rural livelihoods.
- Provide technical assistance and training to farmers to enhance their productivity and efficiency.
- Create and manage agricultural development projects, including grant applications and budgets.
- Evaluate and monitor project outcomes to ensure goals are met and make necessary adjustments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with rural communities and understanding their specific agricultural challenges.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and resource management.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify opportunities and assess feasibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and travel within the Bristol Bay region.
