Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York is seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic team as a Compliance Officer. We are looking for an individual with a strong legal background to ensure that FIT operates within the boundaries of all relevant laws and regulations while promoting a safe and ethical work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct internal audits to identify potential compliance issues
- Collaborate with various departments to address compliance concerns
- Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations relevant to higher education institutions
- Provide training to employees on compliance matters
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; JD preferred
- Previous experience in compliance or a related legal field
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
