Position Overview
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is seeking an experienced and innovative Advanced Technical Specialist in the field of disease control education. As a recognized leader in public health, the BCCDC is dedicated to preventing and controlling infectious diseases, promoting healthy lifestyles, and providing expertise on emerging health issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cutting-edge educational programs and curricula that address disease control in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Design, deliver, and evaluate training courses and workshops aimed at healthcare professionals, community organizations, and the general public
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in disease control education and integrate them into training materials and resources
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal departments and external stakeholders, including reviewing educational materials and providing subject matter expertise
- Conduct research on best practices in disease control education and contribute to the development of innovative strategies
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A master's degree or higher in public health or a related field (e.g., epidemiology, health promotion) is required
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and delivering educational programs, preferably in the field of disease control
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in utilizing advanced technology and blended learning methodologies for educational purposes
- Collaborative Approach: Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and liaise with external stakeholders
- Innovative Mindset: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative educational strategies
