Namaqualand Coastal Conservation Trust is a reputable organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the unique biodiversity of the Northern Cape region in South Africa. We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join our team in an important role that contributes to energy sustainability and environmental conservation.
Position: Biodiversity Project Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate biodiversity research and conservation initiatives in Namaqualand.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement environmental projects aimed at renewable energy development.
- Manage and monitor ongoing conservation programs, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and best practices.
- Develop partnerships with local communities, government bodies, and businesses to promote sustainable practices and foster environmental awareness.
- Conduct fieldwork, data collection, and analysis to assess the impact of energy projects on local ecosystems.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on conservation activities, research findings, and project outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in fundraising activities, grant applications, and project evaluations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in biodiversity research, conservation, or related environmental projects.
- Knowledge of renewable energy practices and their impact on ecosystems.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver results within established timelines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting using relevant software.
- A commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Namaqualand region.
