Are you passionate about working with animals and improving their quality of life? We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team in the Australian Government Department of Health, located in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
Position: Wildlife Conservation Specialist
About the Role
- Conduct research and analysis on native wildlife conservation strategies
- Develop effective policies and programs to protect and conserve native animal species
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including zoos, wildlife organizations, and government agencies
- Advise and provide expert knowledge on wildlife management and biodiversity
- Evaluate the impact of environmental factors on animal health and well-being
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in wildlife conservation or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of Australian fauna and their habitats
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective wildlife strategies
- Demonstrated understanding of environmental legislation and policies
