Position: Legal Compliance Specialist

As a Legal Compliance Specialist, you will play a vital role in navigating the legal landscape that surrounds the work of the New Zealand Police. Your expertise will assist in upholding our trusted reputation and ensuring our organization operates within legal boundaries. Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice and guidance to stakeholders within the organization
Evaluate and interpret legislation, policies, and regulations to ensure compliance
Conduct legal research to support ongoing activities and initiatives
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of legal frameworks and strategies
Contribute to the drafting and review of legal documentation
Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure legal obligations are met
Stay informed on legal and industry developments to proactively identify areas of improvement

Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
Admission to the New Zealand Bar Association or relevant legal professional body
Previous experience in legal compliance or related roles
Strong understanding of New Zealand legal frameworks and legislation
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously
