Akureyri Community Environmental Coalition (ACEC), a leading environmental organization in Northeastern Region, Iceland, is committed to promoting sustainable practices and safeguarding the environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Sustainable Adventure Guide.

Responsibilities:

Lead eco-friendly adventure activities and excursions in the breathtaking natural landscapes of Northeastern Region.
Create engaging and environmentally conscious experiences for visitors by highlighting the region's unique biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices.
Educate tourists about the importance of environmental conservation, responsible tourism, and preserving the local cultural heritage.
Ensure the safety of participants during all adventures while adhering to strict environmental sustainability guidelines.
Collaborate with ACEC's team to develop innovative and educational materials to raise awareness about the region's natural wonders among local and international visitors.
Continuously update and improve the sustainability practices implemented during the adventure activities.

Requirements:

Passion for the environment, sustainability, and promoting responsible tourism.
Excellent communication skills in English and Icelandic. Additional languages are a plus.
Proven experience in adventure guiding, providing exceptional service, and ensuring participants' safety.
Thorough knowledge of the region's natural and cultural heritage.
Ability to lead groups, inspire participants, and create memorable experiences while upholding sustainable practices.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate specialized adventure equipment.
